Coming in 2023 there will be a 2 seater EV called Aptera. It has a similar height and length to a Prius, but is so efficient that the optional solar cells are able to provide up to 40 miles per day, and the range options will go from 250 miles to 1,000 miles. The body is made from a composite so in addition to the low maintenance of normal EV's this will not rust. We all need exercise to stay healthy but we don't always do it, and when we do it can cost us money, create pollution and take time away from family and friends, but it doesn't have to.
Here are 12 things you can incorporate into your exercise if you want. Don't feel like you need to click the link in the brackets, those are just there if you're interested in more information. 1. Go for a 30 min walk everyday (GirlTrek site, or their TED Talks) 2. Do the walk outside (natural settings have health benefits) 3. Go with friends (Secret to living longer may be your social life) 4. Do some citizen science while out there (Try the iNaturalist app or search for others) 5. Take along reusable water bottle and healthy snacks (less waste is good for everyone) 6. Take some gloves and a bag to pick up litter (A TED talk on making it fun) 7. Share the idea with others (The most important thing you can do to fight climate change: talk about it) 8. Try to avoid having to drive to the spot in order to save the cost and pollution. 9. Support local conservation areas rather and maybe cancel your gym membership. 10. Don't feed animals or drop food waste as you go (here are 19 reasons why) 11. To help make sure you do it, do it after an existing habit. (TED Talk of examples) 12. If you find you are putting it off just commit to putting your on your shoes. Once you get your shoes on your momentum might get you out there. (Video summary of the Tiny Habits book) If your natural gas provider is Enbridge, you can pay an additional $2 per month flat rate for renewable natural gas.
https://www.enbridgegas.com/sustainability/optup If not with Enbridge look for similar options in your area. If you're worried about air pollution you can pay a few dollars a month to make sure the amount of electricity you use is generated by a renewable source.
In most areas all of the electricity generated goes into a common grid, so even if you have a solar roof you'd sell that energy back to the grid at one price, and buy energy back from the grid at a different price. Bullfrog Power will let you pay into one of their systems generating renewable electricity so you don't have to build and maintain one on your own property. This makes it easy for the customer and easy for the provider. Zero effort for the clients, and low to no risk for the energy producer since customers are willing to pay the premium. https://bullfrogpower.com/who-we-are/ |
